Description
The Matilda II infantry tank was a cornerstone of British armoured forces during the early years of the
Second World War. Developed in the late 1930s to support infantry advances, it was heavily armoured
for its time and almost impervious to standard anti-tank weapons during the Battle of France and
North African campaigns.
